Newcastle additional HMO licensing applies across the administrative area of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne from 5 April 2025 to 5 April 2030.
Paid in two parts: £350 on application (Part A) and £750 on grant (Part B).
Properties exempt from this scheme
- HMOs subject to an Interim or Final Management Order are outside the additional licensing designation.
- HMOs subject to a temporary exemption under section 62 of the Housing Act 2004 are outside the additional licensing designation.
- Temporary Exemption Notices may be granted for 3 months where the property manager intends to make the property no longer require a licence.

- £100 off where the property has an EPC rating of A, B or C.
