- Term
- 5 years
- Fee per property
- £1,025
Lambeth selective licensing phase 1 applies to privately rented properties in Knights Hill, Streatham Common and Vale, Streatham Hill East, and Streatham St. Leonard's.
The scheme covers 4 named wards. Two streets on either side of a ward boundary can end up with different answers, so checking the ward of the property matters more than the postcode.
Paid in two parts: £717.50 on application (Part A) and £307.50 on grant (Part B).
Properties exempt from this scheme
- Houses in multiple occupation requiring mandatory HMO licensing
- Houses in multiple occupation requiring Lambeth additional HMO licensing
- Tenancies or licences granted by registered social landlords
- Properties subject to an Interim or Final Management Order
- Properties subject to a temporary exemption under section 86 of the Housing Act 2004
- Tenancies, licences, buildings or parts of buildings exempt under the Selective Licensing of Houses (Specified Exemptions) (England) Order 2006
Discounts the council offers
- £50 off the Part B fee for an EPC rating of C or better
- £75 off the Part B fee for accredited landlords or members of recognised landlord or agent schemes
- £100 off Part A for subsequent flats in the same block where the multiple-property discount criteria are met
A landlord who qualifies for the strongest energy and accreditation discounts on this scheme pays around £850 instead of the headline £1,025 fee, a saving of £175.
