Haringey selective licensing applies within the selective licensing zone to privately rented homes let to a single person, two people, or a single household.
The scheme covers 14 named wards. Two streets on either side of a ward boundary can end up with different answers, so checking the ward of the property matters more than the postcode.
The standard fee is £705.84, paid in two parts: £411.57 on application (Part A) and £294.27 once the application is approved (Part B).
Properties exempt from this scheme
- HMOs required to be licensed under Part 2 of the Housing Act 2004 are excluded.
- Homes let by a registered social landlord are excluded.
- Homes subject to an Interim or Final Management Order under Part 4 of the Housing Act 2004 are excluded.
- Homes subject to a temporary exemption under section 86 of the Housing Act 2004 are excluded.
- Tenancies, licences, buildings or parts of buildings exempt under the Selective Licensing of Houses (Specified Exemptions) (England) Order 2006 are excluded.
Discounts the council offers
- £50 off Part B for accredited licence holders under LLAS, NRLA or UKALA, or members of ARLA, RICS or Safeagent.
- £50 off Part B where the property has an EPC rating of C or above.
- £75 off Part A for the second and subsequent rented flats in the same block or building where the applicant owns or manages three or more rented flats there.
